Each drawing has a separate matching description sheet listing materials and sources as well as an explanation of the part's function and a step-by-step written procedure for making the part. The drawings are not hand sketches or photocopies, but actual blueprints drawn full size and to scale, and are fully dimensioned and toleranced. (Note: The background image of this webpage is a reduced excerpt from RG-G's blueprints.) This package is definitely for the serious hobbyist. The other plans that have floated around are scans of an early 1900's copy of Colts plans for a gun in 30/40 Krag. At one time I modeled all three sets of plans in a cad program I no longer have. It appeared that all of the plans have errors that require fitting and adjustment to produce a working arm. The Colt plans are the hardest to work with simply because the are a bit fuzzy, dimensions are hard to read, or missing.

It may never have gotten the engineering attention that other products got. I have only encountered one antique Gatling for sale and the asking price was $225,000. I have seen guns listed on the net and auction estimates for less, but still well into the 6 figure range. Working scale models and full size replicas are usually above 5 figures. The bull dog is a later design and incorporates a lot of improvements not found on earlier guns, but its not what was in the Hollywood westerns.
